Essie Claire Winston is a Lighting  Designer, Programmer, and Technician originally from Kansas City.  In May 2026, Essie will receive their BFA in Lighting Design from the Peter Sargent Conservatory at Webster University.  They have had the pleasure of working across many aspects of live entertainment, including Theatre, Dance, and Opera at world-class organizations such as Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival, Barrington Stage Company, and is an apprentice for the 2025 Season at The Santa Fe Opera. During her time in Saint Louis, they have designed for incredible regional companies, including Pack Dance and the Webster Department of Dance. 

 

 She is also honored to be a recipient of the 2025 Fred Foster Mentorship Program.

When they are not behind the Tech Table, Essie loves to be traveling, on a hike, or baking a batch of chocolate chip cookies.
